Back in 2000, when we were in the Premier League we were operating 7 official merchandising stores, in the stadium and in the city of Leeds and surrounding areas, totally up to 30 tills across all stores. We were also managing our own warehouse, so we knew we had to invest in a sophisticated Stock Management and ePoS retail solution” says Mark Broadley, Head of IT.
“After extensive research, we selected the Genesis system from Esperus Systems Ltd, which was the only solution that could do everything” Mark continues. It carried out all elements of stock management and stock replenishment, including managing telephone orders, picking, packaging, wholesale and ecommerce web based sales. The credit authorization link from Genesis to Verifone is incredibly fast, a few seconds! Meaning we can keep up with high credit card payment demands on match days”, Mark says.
“Over the last 14 years, we have had a close working partnership with Esperus, particularly with the Technical Services Manager, Bambos Chambi and the software development team. This in conjunction with the flexibility of Genesis has meant that we were able to adapt our business to suit our needs, including downsizing when needed”, says Daniel Jeffery, Retail Director. “In 2011, we again went out to Tender for an ePoS and Stock Management system, including a hardware upgrade, and once again found Esperus to be well ahead of the competition in terms of the features and flexibility it provided, most systems included only certain modules not the whole cycle as Genesis did” continues Daniel. “As Retail Director, I have to make daily decisions and strategic recommendations to the board. Genesis’ analysis features allow real time data to be extracted into Excel. These features have helped me enormously in better understanding our business and being able to make faster decisions that have added to our success, improving sales and stock availability greatly” adds Daniel.
